Cairo – Mubasher: Trade exchange between Egypt and the US stood at $5.5 billion during the first nine months of 2019, the Egyptian minister of trade and industry Amr Nassar said in a statement on Monday.
Trade relations between the two countries have reached unprecedented levels with the Egyptian market becoming a key destination for US investments, Ian Steff, deputy assistant secretary for manufacturing at US Department of Commerce, remarked.
This came during a meeting between Nassar and Steff who heads a high-level US delegation visiting the most populous Arab nation.
Nasser also revealed that a customs agreement between Egypt and the US is expected to come into force in the coming period.
